Grime icon Stormzy has been confirmed as the first Glastonbury Festival headliner.

Amidst recent rumours of his performance, the 'Glastonbury Free Press' has confirmed the news through a series of posters which have appeared in a number of Oxfam shops.

The unexpected announcement has seen social media users taken aback by the booking, which appears to have divided opinion between fans.

Set to play the iconic Pyramid Stage on the Friday night of the festival, the south London native released his first and only album Gang Signs & Prayer in February 2017, to widespread critical acclaim.

The much anticipated Glastonbury 2019 line up is likely to be slowly released over the coming months following the frantic on sale in October, which saw all tickets for the 135,000 capacity festival sell out within 35 minutes.
