During its fourteen year history, T in the Park has become a world renowned event and was recently voted ‘Best Major Festival’ in the UK Festival Awards for the second year running. However, festival organisers Big Day Out Ltd and founding partners Tennent’s Lager consistently drive to make improvements to the previous year’s spectacular event, and today, they revealed their plans for the festival which will now take place from Friday evening, 6th July until Sunday 8th July 2007 at Balado by Kinross in Scotland.

Only those people lucky enough to have weekend with camping tickets will have access to the festival arena on the evening of Friday 6th July.

As always, expect many more artists and attractions to be unveiled over the coming weeks and months that will continue to ensure that T in the Park is a world leading festival experience.

A limited number of tickets for this year’s T in the Park went on sale back in July, just 24 hours after 2006’s fantastic event. T in the Parkers snapped all 35,000 of them up in just 70 MINUTES. This positively smashed all previous records, and is testament to the festival’s consistent popularity and stature amongst global music fans.

Geoff Ellis, of festival organisers DF Concerts had this to say:

"We have always said that it’s the incredible loyalty of the audience that makes T in the Park so special and last year the fans made themselves heard again by voting T the Best UK Festival for the second consecutive year at the UK Festival Awards! To show our appreciation we wanted to give something back to them, and create an even better experience than the last, so it is with great pleasure that this year we’re announcing a third day!"

"The line up is already particularly strong with four of the biggest bands in the world today confirmed to headline. Both Arctic Monkeys and The Killers made their King Tut’s debuts just over two years ago so it is amazing how quickly they have progressed into headline acts. Snow Patrol cemented their reputation as one of the world’s best live acts with a phenomenal performance at last year’s T on the Fringe. Razorlight are one of Britain’s finest musical exports, and I’m sure fans will be thrilled when they hear who will be joining them on the bill."

"Tickets are expected to sell out quickly once again this year but as always I must urge fans to only buy tickets from official outlets to avoid falling foul of online ticket scams or paying well over the odds for tickets that may not even exist and being left disappointed."

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at founding partners Tennent’s Lager added:

"Having been part of T in the Park as founding partners since its inception in 1994, we have watched the event grow and develop into a world renowned event. All of us at Tennent’s Lager are absolutely delighted that the festival arena will be open to campers on the evening of Friday 6th July for the first time in the event’s illustrious fourteen year history."

"Our thanks go once again to our partners Big Day Out Ltd for putting together another stunning line up of for this year’s event, including the very best of international artists and homegrown talent. We are all looking forward to making future announcements in the coming weeks and months, which will prove exactly why T in the Park was voted the ‘Best Major Festival’ for the second year running last year."

"We are also looking forward to seeing what the T Break Stage has to offer this year. The standard of the talent coming through T Break is just astounding and every year the T Break Stage proves to be an absolute must for music fans. All here at Tennent’s Lager are extremely proud of our initiative and of all the artists that work so hard to take part. With some exiting new online developments we are expecting even more talented unsigned artists to enter this year, as they are now also able to upload their demos on to www.tbreak.co.uk…it couldn’t be easier!"

"Our thanks must also go to the infamous Balado crowd, whose reputation is second to none the world over. The artists who perform at T in the Park love the inimitable Balado reception they receive, which is why they love to come back! The community spirit that we see year on year from the T in the Parkers who pitch up to camp, and those who visit us for the day at T is astounding. And their identity as a group is our identity as a festival. It is inspirational to share the festival with you, and we hope you feel as much a part of it as we know you are. We can’t wait to see you all at Balado in July."

"T in the Park has always been, and will remain to be, the flagship event in our music programme which demonstrates a consistent and passionate commitment to and support of music in Scotland, the history of which spans nearly 20 years. Roll on July!"

Campsite

Once again, the party will start on Friday 6th July for all the music fans who are allowed to camp in the legendary T in the Park campsite. This year, those holding a weekend with camping ticket will also have access to the festival arena for Friday’s musical extravaganza. More artists will be announced soon…
