THE Wickerman Festival 2007: Feel THE BURN!

Over 50 bands Confirmed For Scotland’s Hottest Music Festival so far!

New York alternative rappers and rockers Fun Lovin’ Criminals are to top the bill at Scotland’s own alternative music event - the Wickerman Festival.

And there’s more American influence this year with Appalachia’s Hayseed Dixie making the long journey from their home mountains to the low lying fields of East Kirkcarswell, Dundrennan, in the South West of Scotland.

"Burn" is the theme this year and July 20-21 are the dates for the "hottest" event on the circuit. Now in its sixth year, it features nine stages and other attractions will include a festival circus, walkabout theatre, fire performances and the spectacular burning of a 25 ft high Wickerman at Saturday midnight.

Already, more than 50 bands and acts have been confirmed for 2007.

In addition to Fun Lovin’ Criminals and the AC/DC influenced banjo, fiddle and guitar sounds of Hayseed Dixie...Wicker people can look out for ska sound from The Beat, punk rock at its best from Scottish legends The Rezillos, ambient house gurus The Orb, Manchester favourites I Am Kloot and one of last year’s festival hits Uniting the Elements.

The Yardbirds, the band that produced guitar legends Clapton, Beck and Page, are appearing and Peatbog Faeries, the best live act at the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards are coming down from the Isle of Skye.

Skiddle’s Solus tent will focus on new Scottish talent and ShoogaKube will be presenting the all new "Mixing Room" billed as the most eclectic music arena of the summer, including the 30 piece Samba Ya Bamba.
