It seems as though 'prog rock' heads' thirty year campaign to establish a genre specific chart has sufficed, with Tame Impala topping the first ever official top ten.
The Official Charts Company and Prog Magazine have teamed up to devise a monthly chart, mined by "progressive rock experts" who decide the eligibility of an album.
The first edition of the chart will be inaugurated on Thursday 4th September. Out-muscling Muse's Drones in second place and Amused To Death by Roger Waters in third is Kevin Parker's latest album Currents.
