Today is Tuesday (in case you hadn't noticed yet) so it’d be rude not to bring you something from the world of techno. With two major Drumcode showcases fast approaching, we’ve been reminding ourselves of just how skillful Ida Engberg is as a DJ and a producer and how she's become an inspirational philanthropist.
Recently we saw Ida launch the first ever Techno For Humanity charity event which was set up to help Syria’s refugee crisis with assistance from the dance music community. All the artists - including Heidi, Yousef, Guti and her partner Adam Beyer - played for free to raise money for the cause.
Focusing more on her continuous musical efforts, Ida has played all around the world, touching base at some of the most renowned venues. Her style is undoubtedly full of energy, always supplying a powerful, driven beat that keeps crowd bouncing and lost in the music for hours on end.
One of her most notable performances has to be at Awakenings in 2013 (watch a clip above) at Gashouder in Amsterdam. With unwavering confidence, Ida so eloquently and effortlessly lays down the groove with a smile on her face during the rip-roaring set- the whole thing is an absolute joy to listen to.
Ida will perform again at Drumcode’s annual ADE show on October 15th and is also set to play for the LWE crew on October 31st for Adam Beyer presents Drumcode Halloween, alongside the likes of Scuba, Boddika and Nicole Moudaber.
