This week's #TechnoTuesday is a little bit different to usual. In the midst of another blistering ENTER. season in Ibiza, Richie Hawtin managed to find time to head over to Huddersfield to pick up an Honorary Doctorate from the University for his outstanding contribution to the world of music technology.
Presented the award by legendary actor Patrick Stewart, Hawtin is only one of eight distinguished people from the worlds of media, science, enterprise, politics and the arts to have earned the award.
The M_nus and Plus 8 mastermind completed his second educational tour, CNTRL, earlier this year, which saw him hit various Universities in the world to educate and inspire a new generation of producers and performers into electronic music, whilst his collaborations with Native Instruments, Ableton, Subpac and Final Scratch to develop new technologies for DJs are undoubtedly some of the factors involved in his earning of the accolade.
Head here for more on Richie Hawtin.
