Is there a genre of dance music better suited to a Halloween rave than techno? We welcome any arguments. The darker side of electronic with its devilishly pummelling bass and haunting synths matched with the industrial, worn and outright odd venues around the country means that you're spoilt for choice for October 31st, but here's our favourites...
When Liverpool clubbing institutions Freeze and Cream first took over the abandoned mental hospital in Newsham Park earlier this year, the question on every raver's lips was would they return to hair-raising venue the for the spookiest time of the year? The answer was yes, and with one of the biggest techno brands on the globe - Cocoon.
Papa Sven (watch above) is set to headline the showcase alongside label favourites Dana Ruh and Popof, with Booka Shade scheduled to lead the after party at Nation. If you want an idea of what the venue is like, read our review from the first Asylum with Marco Carola.
Another match made in heaven by promoters in Liverpool. 303 has took advantage of the wicked nature of Halloween and invited the German overlord of techno DJ Hell to play at the Constellations warehouse space.
Expect an intense, dramatic and soulful filled house set, complete with an acid edge and a menacing energy from the boss of Deejay Gigolos (watch him in action above).
Adam Beyer has been hosting his Drumcode Halloween get-togethers in London since 2012, bringing with him some of the labels key players for a night of techno led debauchery. Following the success of last year's ghoulish showcase, the brand will return to Tobacco Dock warehouse. The label's head honcho (above) will be joined by partner Ida Engberg, Pan Pot and Boddika.
The team behind Bugged Out know how to put on a party, and Warehouse Project knows how to host one. The legendary Store Street venue is a spectacle within itself, battered brickwork and industrial layout makes it a quintessential British rave-up space.
One of Detroit techno's originators Carl Craig is set to lead the proceedings. He'll be joined by Tiga who's set to play a live set along with Daniel Avery and Paul Woolford who'll play back to back with Gerd Janson.
Nightvision has single-handedly transformed Edinburgh's clubbing scene over the past couple of years and following its summer hiatus, it's come back with a vengeance with a string of underground house and techno events.
The Halloween event will be headed by Berlin based duo Pan-Pot. The techno powerhouse duo will be showcasing their newly released second album The Other.
