Australian 'plunderphonics' trio The Avalanches yesterday announced their return to the music world with updated social media accounts and four festival dates. The last time they appeared on the musical stage was in 2011 with a DJ set, and their last live show was even further back in 2007.
There's also plenty of talk of a long awaited new album, the first new material we've heard since their magnificent, sample heavy album Since I Left You back in 2000.
The new LP will feature Danny Brown on vocals with a track he's said will 'change the world', but as is their custom, that's about all we know. We'll keep you posted on any further developments. For now, we'll have to make to with basking in the title track of their last album above.
