Calvin Harris and The 1975 were the biggest winners at the BRIT awards last night, scooping two gongs each at the awards ceremony hosted by Clara Amfo and Jack Whitehall.
Pop superstar Dua Lipa was the recipient of the Best British Single award for her hook up with Harris on feel good summer banger 'One Kiss', while the Scottish DJ and producer was also awarded the Best Producer award for over a decade of powerhouse productions.
The 1975 beat Arctic Monkeys to best British Group, and used their acceptance speech to echo journalist Laura Snape's words regarding misogyny in the world of indie music, before also being named winners of the night's biggest award - British album of the year for their culturally encompassing smash A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.
Other winners included Tom Walker, who looked as surprised as anyone when he won the British Breakthrough award, while Jorja Smith fended off arguably the favourite Dua Lipa for best British Female, with (not so surprisingly) George Ezra winning the male equivalent.
Sam Fender had already been named Critics choice long before last night's ceremony for what has been a truly tremendous 12 months for the Newcastle singer songwriter.
