Two of the most influential ska revival bands of the 70s are to collaborate for a joint headline tour, as The Beat and The Selecter have announced their sharing of stages across the country.
Forming in the late 70s, Birmingham band The Beat fused together ska, punk, reggae and new wave elements and created their own version of the popular Jamaican-influenced sound. The Beat are one of the main bands to come out of the ever influential 2 Tone movement, which defined the British ska scene forever.

The Selecter were a band famed for their energy and passion during live performances and to this day, some of their songs are recognisable among a broad and diverse audience. Having started their musical journey in the unemployment height of the country, when ska music provided a political yet upbeat soundtrack, their popularity grew - eventually making them one of the biggest bands of the genre.
The two bands of lifelong friends will come together for a joint headline tour, including venues in Leeds and London.
