Unfortunately, with rising costs, as well as environmental and animal concerns surrounding it, Liverpool Council will once again not be putting on any official Bonfire Night Events this year. However, in and around Merseyside, many of the towns will be putting on local affairs that fill the sky with explosions of colour and light instead!

But do not fear about having to travel too far, as all these events are 45 minutes or less away from the city centre, and you can still get the family together, be warmed by the bonfire, and watch the spectacle unfold. When: Sunday 3rd November 2024

Where: The Chester Fields in Chester

If you're willing to make the journey over to Chester then get ready to embrace the cosy season with an explosive twist at the Bonfire Night & Firework Display at The Chester Fields in Chester. With a notoriously good firework display and huge bonfire from 4pm, there are few better spots to take the kids that are close by. 

Besides the pyrotechnics, you'll find a tempting selection of hot food and drinks from Hog Roast to Hot Dogs, Hot Chocolate to Mulled wine available for purchase outside, while a fully stocked bar awaits you to keep the festive spirit high. Big Bang - Year of the Dragon!

When: Tuesday 5th November 2024

Where: Lock And Quay in Bootle

A stone's throw from the centre in Bootle, the Locke and Quay comes alive with flames, fireworks, and firebreathing monsters.. that's right it's the year of the dragon, so the mythical beasts will be joining in with the bonfire celebrations.

Liverpool College PTA Fireworks Bonanza

When: Fri 8th November 2024

Where: Liverpool College in Liverpool

Get ready for an unforgettable evening at the Liverpool College PTA Fireworks Bonanza! This family-friendly event, held in the sports hall on the upper school side, will feature a whole range of things to do outside of the skyward explosions; things like food stalls, games, a bouncy castle, a face painter, and, of course, the main event, an incredible firework display!

Don't forget to bring cash for the stalls that don't accept cards and have your unique QR code ready for entry. It's a night you won't want to miss!

From The Ground Comes Light

When: Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd November 2024

Where: Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens

Experience this incredible Bonfire Night event, "From The Ground Comes Light" in St Helens, just a short trip outside of Liverpool. This is in its third year now and the displays just keep getting bigger and better, so we can't wait to see what they pull out this year. Plus, alongside is a huge range of awesome activities including inflatables, a silent disco, face painting, and live music on the stadium concourses.

This is one for the Saints fans, but to be honest, anyone and everyone will have a blast here!
