If you’re not already familiar with the Portugal festival game, you soon will be as they’re one of the hottest destinations to party in. So if you fancy a change of pace look no further as we’ve got an incredible list of some of the best festivals in Portugal in 2024.

Another festival with a massively diverse lineup, Primavera Sound Porto is one of Portugal's biggest parties of the year. Sharing a similar lineup to the slightly larger sister events in Spain, the festival is massive and will see some of the biggest artists in the world smash its stages. It’s going to be colossal.
Amidst this diverse lineup, the festival is no stranger to some of the biggest names in the music world. This year, lucky ticket holders can look forward to SZA, PJ Harvey, Mitski, Lana Del Rey, Justice, Pulp, The National, Kim Patras, The Last Dinner Party, and more.If you’re a music fan who’s open-minded about the genre, then Primavera Sound in Porto will blow you away.
Not only is the festival in an amazing location (who wouldn’t want to go to sunny Porto for a festival?) with an insane lineup, but Primavera was the first European festival to create a lineup with a 50:50 gender split. Primavera quite literally has it all.

DNB Allstars Portgual Festival
2024 Lineup: Bou, Camo & Krooked, Dimension, Friction, Hedex, S.P.Y and more
When: Friday 3rd - Monday 6th May 2024
Where: Paria Da Rocha Beach in Portimao
DnB Allstars is one of the biggest online DnB communities, a growing space for all lovers of a good skank. This year they have chosen to make their mark with their first-ever festival in England, and because they're absolute beasts for a party, they are also bringing it to Portugal.
Even though this event is a little earlier in summer than the rest, it's never too early for a bit of DnB, and they'll be amping it up at Paria Da Rocha Beach, known for its stunning scenery. It's set to be a big one with 3 days of straight partying all day and night. There are 60+ artists on the horizon to bring the best of DnB, including Bou, Camo & Krooked, Dimension, Friction, Hedex, S.P.Y and so many more.

NOS Alive is on the 16th edition of their brilliance and it doesn't look like they're stopping any time soon; not that we'd want them to! Every year, NOS Alive dominates the festival season in Portugal and is adored far and wide by locals and foreigners alike. Thanks to its monster lineups that span across many genres; metal, rock, pop, indie, RnB, electronic, garage, alternative and more. Creating an interesting fest that keeps you on your feet and excited for the next artist.
Last year Nos received a whopping 210,000 people in their home, and during the 4-day fest, 165 artists helped bring in the uplifting atmosphere that NOS upholds every year across their 7 stages. This year they have reduced the number of stages to 6, however, that will not stop NOS from cramming in as much talent as they can for your satisfaction. From Dua Lipa, Jesse Ware, Arcade Fire, Michael Kiwanuka, Nothing But Thieves, Pearl Jam as just a few of the names mentioned so far.

Where: Praia da Rocha Beach, Portimão, Portugal
2024 Lineup: Nicki Minaj, Asake, J Hus, Rema, Ninho, Tyla, Major League DJZ, Uncle Waffles, Flavour and more.
If you want to feel the heat of true afrobeat, amapiano, afro house, dance hall, and RnB from African artists, while being surrounded by beautiful scenery, then Afro Nation may be the one for you. After gaining attraction on social media for the lit vibes amongst the crowd, and sparkling lineups, Afro Nation is now one of the most in-demand Porugual festivals to this date.
With an average temperature of 25 degrees and red-rock cliffs towering over the golden sand and warm sea, Afro Nation Portugal is a fantastic choice. However, if you're uncertain about travelling to Portugal for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, don't worry too much as a majority of their audience is UK-born; including the odd influencer which will make you feel right at home.

Vagos Metal Fest

If you’re looking for a moshing, headbanging, wall-of-death inciting lineup, we’ve got just the festival for you. Vagos Metal Fest is one of the biggest metal festivals in the country and is ready to rock into its seventh edition this year. It’s grown massively since its first edition in 2016 and will likely only continue to grow thanks to its brilliant lineups. Past editions have featured huge names in Metal like Sepultura, Alestorm, Imperial Triumphant, Ugly Kid Joe, Bel'lakor, Chelsea Grin, Soulfly, Suicidal Tendencies, Whitechapel, Napalm Death and more.

RFM SOMNII

On their tenth edition, RFM Somnii, is back to revive the memory book of taking you on a journey of summers filled with sun, sea, music, emotions (the good kind), and friendship. This beach festival dedicates itself to playing the very best of electronic music that entwines the rhythm of the sea, to match the flow of your moves; creating a unique experience for this Portuguese music festival.

Waking Life Festival

A few years back, Brazil's legendary festival, Rock in Rio branched out and now has locations in Portugal, Spain and the USA. This year is super special as the brilliant festival is celebrating its tenth edition as Rock in Rio Lisboa, 20 years after its first edition in Portugal.
Though we would all love a full long week festival in the prime of Lisbon listening to some of the best mainstream and homegrown music, Rock in Rio Lisboa is only on the 15, 16, 22, and 23rd of June 2024. The event will take place in Bela Vista Park, which transforms into the ultimate city of rock, built to ensure 12-hour sets across 3 stages.
Plus, this year this lineup is totally matching the vibes, with headliners Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, and a mixture of mindblowing talent, Calum Scott, Camila Cabello, Scorpions, Evanescence and more!

There's something about partying surrounded by rich historical ambience, that makes things feel just that little bit more special. And if you're looking for that kind of vibe then come this way as Neopop is back again for another edition of their sellout festival. With a bit of mystery surrounding who will take the stages of this historic electric festival, there is high hopes, especially after last year saw the likes of Charlotte De Witte, Dubfire, Honey Dijon, Mall Grab, Pan-Pot, Biia, Chris Liebing, Mind Against.
Sounds like the perfect weekend for fans of the genre who are a bit fed up with huge crowds and are after a more personal experience with the music!

Now over 25 years old, Super Bock Super Rock is one of the most popular, and quite frankly best, Portuguese music festivals. Despite its name, the festival recruits artists from a variety of genres and always produces an envious lineup of diverse talent. Super Bock Super Rock has only released three names so far, Maneskin, American rapper 21 Savage, and Royal Blood, with more still TBA, and if last year's lineup is anything to go off you're in for a 10/10 time.

Sonar Lisboa

Sonar Festival returns to Lisbon for a continuous day and night party with its third edition in the Porguagees capital. Sonar Festival landed in Portugal in 2022 and has had nothing but success since its debut. Quite different to the rest of the festivals on the list, Sonar Festival is about so much more than music. While there are, of course, plenty of great artists on the lineup, the festival is also about creativity, technology, innovation and providing networking opportunities. But don’t worry, the crowds are still up for it, and most are there for the music.
On the music, is a huge collection of talent with artists such as Nia Archives, AMULADOR, Eliza Rose, Ana Pacheco, Jennifer Loveless, DJ Gigola, so no matter if you choose to party in the day or night you'll definitely have a time to remember!
