After that week of uncomfortably high temperatures, we think we speak for everyone when we say we’re glad to be graced with lower temperatures. But that’ll soon pass, and we’ll all be ready to get back out there and burn to a tipsy crisp in the best rooftop bars in Cardiff.
Since facilitating good times is what we do, we put together this list of Cardiff rooftop bars to help you plan your next outing and make the most of summer '22.

Attracting those who like innovative, super photogenic cocktails and a laidback atmosphere, Lab 22 has a huge cocktail menu, including ones made for sharing, and one of the best rooftop bars in Cardiff. The staff are happy to help you find your dream drink, cocktails are affordable and insanely good, and dogs are welcome. It's basically perfect, and easily one of Cardiff’s most loved cocktail bars.

It’s not a list of the best Cardiff rooftop bars without mentioning Jacobs Roof Garden. Jacobs has just about everything you could want from a rooftop bar. There are umbrellas, heaters, sheltered areas, and the best views. The only downside is that it's more of an event space than a typical bar, so you’ll need to keep an eye out for upcoming events or book it out yourself. But the good news there is that their events are usually brilliant, ranging from wine tasting to parties to festivals.

With luscious foliage decor that makes you feel like you’re drinking in a jungle, The Botanist might have the best look on this list. And similar decor is also found on the rooftop bar, with trees and bushes lining the perimeter. There are lots of picnic benches and fairy lights to create a homey vibe, making it a cracking spot for a night of drinks and chatting.
The Admiral at Voco St David's

If there’s any bar you can trust for a sublime experience, it’s the bar of a five-star luxury hotel. Voco St David's is situated on Cardiff Bay’s waterfront and has one of the best rooftop bars in Cardiff with charming views, food inspired from around the world, and wines from all over the world, too. Perfect for a pre-concert drink or dinner, the hotel isn't too far from Principality Stadium.

The Philharmonic is a cracking spot and definitely the place to go if you’re looking to kick off a mad night out. They have a two-for-one happy hour every day that includes cocktails, wine, prosecco, and some beers, a popular bottomless brunch, and they show sports on their 4K large screens. And if that wasn’t enough, they have one of the best rooftop bars in Cardiff with TVs and lots of seats. Can you see why everyone loves it?
The Great Western

When we’re eager to hit the town but our bank balance is looking slightly worse for wear, Spoons is our saviour. And The Great Western has a lovely little rooftop bar. It’s small, but not many are aware it’s there. Open all day and night, it’s perfect for day sessions, sunny afternoons, or evening meets.
Laguna Kitchen & Bar

Okay, this one isn’t actually a rooftop bar, but it’s too lovely not to tell you about. Laguna has an outdoor area surrounded by nature. Being in nature has many health benefits, including making us feel good and reducing anger, stress, and fear. It, of course, looks gorgeous and has a naturally enchanting air about it.
When the sun decides to make an appearance again, we guarantee there’ll be no better place to enjoy it than in Cardiff’s rooftop bars.
