Geestar Productions have a long history of securing quality line ups at their parties. Recent times have seen them bring the likes of Ashanti, Jagged Edge and Gyptian to Manchester and Sheffield, making them the go-to promoters for nights crammed with quality urban music.
New Year's Eve sees the renowned promoters pull out all the stops as they arrive at Manchester's Sheridan Suites. Their much lauded high end production values and impressive sound system will feature a string of incredible RnB, soul and reggae artists for an unforgettable celebration of 2013.
First on the line up is the Minneapolis based r'n'b three piece Next. With a stunning career which saw them rise to popularity in the 90s, the three piece hit the charts repeatedly with hits like 'Too Close' (above), 'Wifey', and 'I Still Love You', which all became instant classics, bagging them a Best RnB group award at the Soul Train awards in 1999. After recently reforming at the beginning of this year, this is an exciting chance to see the RnB trio perform some of their soulful classics.
Maxi Priest joins them. The legendary RnB and reggae crossover artist has in his long career been responsible for putting out some of the genres most seminal hits, including 'Close To You' (above), 'Set The night To Music' and 'That Girl' with Shaggy. Renowned as an incredible live performer, Maxi Priest will be an exciting addition to Geestar's New Year's Eve soiree.
Others involved on the night will be Soul For Real, Kut Klose, Frankie Paul and Sandra Cross. For fans of soul, reggae and RnB, this is an essential way to bring in 2014.
