A titanic bass contingent hits KOKO on April 18th for Soundcrash's latest outing in the capital. Promising to send Camden into a frenzy, the tireless promoters of high end electronic music have succeeded in putting together one of their most mouth-watering line ups to date.
Taking centre stage will be The Bug, one of the most uncompromising producers in his field.
The tail end of 2014 saw him release his universally adored LP Angels & Devils, an album that saw Kevin Martin plunder everything from industrial soundscapes to vicious grime, via the ethereal bleakness of Grouper's Liz Harris on vocal duties (check the incredible 'Black Wasp' above). Expect an assault of intoxicating and original material from one of the scene's most important artists.
Owner of perhaps electronic music's most consistent record labels, Deep Medi, the mighty Mala is next in the line of fire. As one of the pioneers of dubstep, Mala as part of Digital Mystikz (alongside Coki) paved the way for a legion of producers looking to delve into new uncharted territories.
Full of depth, bass weight and percussive swagger, Mala's productions strike a timeless quality, singular in vision and full of hypnotic groove, staying true to dub roots whilst continually keeping things fresh. Check his Cuban album for Brownswood Studios (above) to get a feel for that.
Also appearing will be the dark and menacing sounds of Dub PhizixandStrategy, and reggae virtuoso's Channel One, AKA Mikey Dread and Jah T. Make no mistake, this one will be huge. Grab your tickets here.
