For one night only, Clapham Grand will host a treasured piece of Chicago when soul legends The Chi-Lites check in for a rare and exclusive gig on Friday 6th March.
Initially formed in the fifities, evolving from The Chanteurs to The Hi-Lites, the band paid tribute to their hometown adding a 'C' and finally settling on The Chi-Lites. Five decades on we recognise them as outright soul legends, who've swung many hips with their library of hits released during their incredible tenure.
In their absolute prime during the seventies, they amassed a bulk of top ten hits that include the likes of 'Have You Seen Her' (below). After churning out further chart penetrators like 'Stoned Out Of My Mind' the band began to splinter, eventually splitting up towards the dawn of the eighties.
Fortunately for music lovers the hiatus was short lived and they reformed, prolonging the lifespan of their lush soul drenched output that's sounded them out as legends in their own right. They were recently sampled by Beyonce and Jay-Z reaffirming that status, and with it we're pretty certain that they could fill this one ten times over. Grab your tickets here.
