One of Oklahoma's most cherished musical exports, The Flaming Lips, are gearing up for a trip across the pond this summer.
Recognised internationally for their weird, wild and wonderful live shows which feature a surplus of outlandish props and costumes (and, every now again, the odd cameo appearance from Justin Timberlake dressed as a dolphin), the band - formed in the early 1980s - have amassed a remarkable global following for their brand of unique, whimsical avant-pop.
They've released a score of highly acclaimed records throughout their illustrious four-decade long career, consistently pushing the boundaries of popular music, from the likes of 2007's Grammy nominated At War With The Mystics to the bands seminal album The Soft Bulletin - which celebrated it's 20th anniversary in 2019.
Recent collaborators include a host of intriguing and respected names, from American pop queen Miley Cyrus, to folk legend Bon Iver, godmother of soul Erykah Badu, and L.A. garage rockers Deap Vally - who have teamed up with TFL to co-release new album, Deap Lips.
