Liverpool Music Week's closing party sees the launch of Liverpool's premier new music prize, The GIT awards, for its fourth successive year, with the winners announced on Saturday 18th November at The Kazimier.

12 GIT award 2015 nominees will be shortlisted from across Merseyside, ahead of the showcase ceremony held at the Kazimier on Saturday 4th April 2015, featuring nominees and special guests.

The GIT award recognises outstanding under the radar talent in Merseyside's eclectic music centre, with the resultant force of the awards pushing cutting edge music from Merseyside across the world.

Previous artists who've been part of the GIT awards include Circa Waves, Forest Swords and Lapsley (below), the latter performs as part of the launch party at LMW's closing party on Saturday November 1st.

Founded by Liverpool based blog Getintothis, The GIT awards are well supported by local businesses and industry figures. Past judges for the GIT awards include; NME, 6 music's Tom Ravenscroft and The Guardian amongst other cornerstones of Liverpool's burgeoning music scene.

Artists from all walks of the musical spectrum can get involved by emailing four tracks here (providing you're from or are based in Merseyside).
