With over three decades combined experience working within the music industry, Vick Bain and Alexandra Ampofo are both more than qualified to comment on the many challenges still currently faced by female artists and professionals in music today.

Vick Bain, former CEO of the British Academy of Songwriters and current consultant for the Max Steiner Orchestra, amongst many other things, is the founder of non-profit organisation - 'The F-List'.

An online directory containing over 5,000 female artists from across the UK, the platform, which is the first initiative of its kind, was constructed to promote professional opportunities for females and gender minorities. Raising awareness and highlighting the current lack of diversity in music, as well as offering training and career development advice to its listee's, the organisation's mission is to help women in music create long-lasting and sustainable careers.

Friend and Colleague of Bain, Alexandra Ampofo is equally as prolific. An experienced booker and live music promoter, Ampofo has worked with the likes of Live Nation and Metropolis Music, and is one of several board members at The F-list. She's also collaborated with likes of Unicef Music Group, Black Music Coalition and is accredited for creating 'Embrace Nation' – a cultural and learning hub that strives towards racial equality, in and out of the workplace, for all Live Nation employees.

Recently joining The Guest List Podcast's brand new host, Skiddle marketing team associate Angie Bhandal, from remote and Covid secure locations, the illustrious pair discussed how championing diversity and campaigning for the inclusion of more minorities in music has never been more important.
