They beat him. They deprived him. They ridiculed him. They broke his heart.
But they couldn’t break his spirit.

The quote above is from the seminal 60’s film Kes cinema poster. Filmed in Barnsley, the hometown of The Harrington’s, the quote could easily become the bands slogan.

Proud of their hometown and are not afraid to exhibit it as their huge South Yorkshire fan base will confirm.  The Harrington’s ooze immense potential and are determined to stay committed to their roots. To sing with a hometown accent is creating a public outcry with accusations of hanging onto the coattails of the likes of Arctic Monkeys. However, it's worth a titter to hear the gurgitation of comments about The Harrington’s, but while you're casting your opinions you're missing the outline of the fact that this band has already caught your attention.

‘It's wall-to-wall adrenalin and gratification from start to finish’
Soundbytes Magazine

The music produced by The Harrington’s is equal in quality as it is simplicity and that makes them all the more likeable. There's an obvious safety net hovering over the band, the anticipation of watching it slip at any second, as the band skate on the edge is all part of the escalating attraction. The Harrington’s have produced a debut demo worth smiling about and creating quite a reaction with the bands following. Like it's producers, its uncomplicated and each point is driven home clearly.

The tracks all follow an energetic pace leaving no room for sentiment, The Harrington’s aren't a band for whining about the woes of shitty relationships and hard times, instead they turn it on its head to basically outline shit happens, time to move on and lets make a joke of it. Get over it.

It's exciting times for this band and if you haven't checked The Harrington’s out, we suggest you do…quickly!
