Located in the unique and picturesque setting of Three Mills Island in East London, The Jazz Cafe's inaugural Maiden Voyage Festival promises to be an intimate celebration of jazz, hip hop, afrobeat and funk.

The one-day event will take place on the August bank holiday Sunday, consisting of a single-stage enriched by a carefully curated bill, situated within walking distance of some of the capitals most-beloved landmarks. It's fair to say the team behind the festival have really nailed the logistics on this one.

The lineup is also pretty special, including some of the most esteemed musicians on the globe, the legends at the very top of their game. A pivotal figure of modern soul-jazz and world-renowned vibraphonist, Roy Ayers will provide the sunshine, fingers crossed.

He's joined by Bradley Zero, Charlotte Dos Santos, Illa J, brother of the late legendary hip-hop producer J Dilla, Steam Down, Zakia, multi-instrumentalist and Brainfeeder artist Louis Cole, Awesome Tapes From Africa and Worldwide FM and 6 Music DJ, Gilles Peterson.

Record producer and NTS radio DJ Nabihah Iqbal and Californian beat master Madlib will also both perform DJ sets at the event.
