Seminal post-punk icons The Jesus and Mary Chain are to play a gig following the release of their awaited album in the ironic venue of Church in Leeds.
Famed for their iconic 1985 album Psychocandy, which featured the single 'Just Like Honey' and gave the band their deserved spot on the post-punk map, the distortion driven noise they piloted, alongside hypnotic melodies and moody vocals, continues to be an iconic sound.
The 80s band have recorded their first new studio album in almost two decade. Damage and Joy comes two years after the live LP Live at Barrowlands and over 18 years after the release of their 1998 album Munki. This very special live date comes only three days after the much-anticipated release of Damage and Joy and you can expect performances of their new tracks as well as angsty hits from their huge back catalogue of over ten albums.
