Whilst it's the festival season, and everyone jetting off around the country to camp in fields and listen to some amazing music, some of us are either too old, or just can't be arsed with all that. So, how does sitting down, in a room full of like-minded individuals, with a pint, and listening to some riotously funny comedians instead? Yeah, we thought that may be up your street.
Up and down the UK, some of the funniest people in the country are taking over rooms and delivering giggles for days and satisfying the itch in everyone's funny bone, and we here at Skiddle have got tickets available for some of the absolute best.
We've got huge variety comedy shows at a Castle, where you can see the giants of UK comedy storm their sets; we've got some of the biggest names in the scene doing their tour shows; and we've also got some of the biggest club stars of the Uk scene heading out on tour for the first time. Basically, we've got all the gigs to satiate your comedic needs.

Where: Warwick Castle in Warwick
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Warwick Castle, the incredible team at Closeup Comedy brings you this brand new 3-day open-air comedy festival, aptly named 'Comedy at the Castle.' Steeped in history and grandeur, the Castle will play host to some of the biggest names in the world of comedy, all of who will have your funny bone tickled like never before.
Not only that but alongside the funny festivities will be a sprawling selection of street food offerings, courtesy of Digbeth Dining Club, that will tantalize your taste buds and satisfy any cravings. From mouthwatering delicacies to irresistible treats, the festival promises a culinary journey that will complement the comedy experience perfectly.

Adam Rowe: What’s Wrong With Me?
When: Tuesday 26th September 2023
Where: The Jacaranda Club in Liverpool
Adam Rowe is a legend in the Northern comedy scene. One half of the enviably brilliant Have A Word Podcast and a comic who is ready and primed to take over the country, Rowe is known for his unique mix of observational humour, self-deprecating jokes, and riotously funny storytelling. Adam is on a trailblazing run at the minute, with two hit comedy specials out already this year (both outrageously good whilst being impressively diverse comedically) and this third show on the way, there seems to be no stopping the scouser.
In his latest show, "What's Wrong With Me?", Adam Rowe delves into his personal experiences with mental health issues, offering a hilarious yet insightful take on the topic. Drawing on his own struggles and those of his friends and family, he brings a refreshing and honest perspective to the stage, inviting audiences to join him on a journey of self-discovery and self-deprecation.

Laugh Train Home Ft Fin Taylor

Where: The Four Thieves in Battersea, London
Fin Taylor is emerging as one of the kings of dark comedy in the UK. From his absolutely incredible recent appearance on the NFL show when the sport came to London (seriously if you haven't watched this stop what you're doing and go, it's one of the funniest things you'll see today) to his new Youtube series, Fin vs the internet, where he takes on internet influencers and stars in the most brutally ironic ways, he is one seriously funny man.

CLOSEUP COMEDY x Birmingham Comedy Festival Special
When: Thursday 12th October 2023
Where: Hockley Social Club in Birmingham
One of Birmingham's most popular comedy nights, Closeup Comedy, are putting on a special showcase of some of the country's finest comic talent as part of the 2023 Birmingham Comedy Festival, and you just have to be there.
With the likes of Angelos Epithemiou, Freddy Quinne, Eshaan Akbar, and David Eagle on the bill, you basically won't have to worry about the laugh as they'll be coming a mile a minute.
Alongside the funnies, they'll also be some street food courtesy of Digbeth Dining Club, as well as 3 bars, so you can spend a whole day giggling away and never have to leave. This one's going to be a belter, get on it.

Lawrence Chaney: Overweight and Over It

Lawrence Chaney made history as the first plus-size winner of Ru Paul's Drag Race UK, and now they are coming on tour with their hilarious new show, Overweight and Over It, which is all about the trials and tribulations of being plus-size.
Growing up in the late 90s/early 00s, all TV and media portrayed people's bodies negatively. Now, in 2023 people think they possess no prejudice against plus-size people because they like one Lizzo song. Lawrence will talk about everything from dating and exercise to having to buy two seats on a plane but only getting one meal!

KMB Comedy at the Pear Tree Hotel
When: Wednesday 23rd August 2023
Where: The Pear Tree Hotel in Ripley
This epic comedy event in the covered outdoor area of the pub will have you in absolute stitches as 7 great acts and an amazing MC provide a day of none stop giggles and fun, right in the centre of Derby.
The headline act on the evening is the wonderful Tez Ilyas, as seen on Live at the Apollo; with the likes of Mikey D, Kyle Carson, Kyle Burnham, Douglas Carter, Tharun Chelley, Denzil De Cristo, and MC Chris Purchase-Green rounding out the bill; this is a comedy night for the ages, with a great mix of awesome up-and-comers, and established funny-men alike.

Nabil Abdulrashid: The Purple Pill
When: Friday 1st December 2023
Where: The Attic in Southampton
As seen on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News for You and The Big Narstie Show, Nabil Abdulrashid is bringing his new show, The Purple Pill, out on tour across the country, and this date at The Attic in Southampton looks to be a belter.
The show simply boils down to trying to be a good person while staying a bad man. A hilarious premise in itself, but one that whilst being riotously funny, is also an exploration of empathy, morality and political contradiction.

"After defeat, re-enchantment is necessary," said Lola Olufemi. This thought inspires Josie Long’s brand-new show of stand-up infused with humanity, compassion and some brief political rants. The triple Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, underdog Fringe hero and delirious new mother (the first person to have two babies) returns with a show about the changes wrought by time, passion, moving to Scotland, and loving the world under – let’s face it – difficult circumstances.
The Leadmill is a fantastic room for comedy and this is one of the ones you just have to see. Josie is such an underrated comic, and you'll feel cooler just having seen her. Oh, and make sure to #SaveThe Leadmill, we want shows like this to continue, and they need all the help they can get!

Where: St Marys Creative Space in Chester
The Comedians Club Chester is the best new comedy club in the North West. Coming out of the incredible converted church that is St Marys Creative Space, and hosted by one half of the Have A Word Podcast, Dan Nightingale; this night is filled with some of the finest acts from the UK Circuit, this regular night is set to become one of the very best about.
In this edition of the night, Dan will be joined by an absolute belter of a bill. Headlining the night is the Mancunian legend Brennan Reece, a comic who has more outrageous stories than any man should; then supporting is seasoned, and massively underrated comic Barry Dodds; as well as the wonderful Chris Washington. This one is set to split many a side in Chester, and we can't wait to be down there giggling away with you!

Acts don't win Comedians Comedian of the Year for no reason, and there is absolutely a reason as to why Multi-award winning comedian Mark Nelson has, it's because he's an absolute riot, and this year he embarks on his first-ever nationwide tour. A hugely sought-after headliner throughout the UK and abroad, Nelson brings a distinctive mix of cutting observations, social commentary and hilarious one-liners.
Whilst this date is a while off yet, if you fancy it, we'd suggest booking tickets asap, as these will be highly sought-after and will sell out. Get on it!
