It's April, and the clocks have gone forward and we're finally starting to see the first signs of the weather getting better... well, kind of? So, with all this happening, In our opinion, this is the best time to get something booked, so you can have even more things to be excited about. So, why not book a Comedy Night? where you can get packed into a room and giggle away at some of the UK's finest comedians?
If this sounds like a bit of you, then we here at Skiddle want to make it happen! Throughout the month, and into the warmer months of 2024, we've got a huge variety of comedy shows for you to test your funny bone at. From huge comedy festivals with a castle as a backdrop; to nights from some fo the biggest rising stars in the game like Mike Rice and Tom Lawrison; to several multi-comedian variety nights where you truly get bang for your buck, and a proper good giggle to go alongside. Whatever you're after, we've got all the gigs to satiate your comedy needs in the coming months.

Where: Warwick Castle in Warwick
Following its massively successful debut year in 2023, Closeup Comedy, the midland's best comedy night, are returning to the picturesque backdrop of Warwick Castle with 'Comedy at the Castle'! A weekend of comedy catered by the amazing Digbeth Dining Club.
Steeped in history and grandeur, the Castle will play host to some of the biggest names in the world of comedy, all of whom will have your funny bone tickled like never before!
Such names coming to the Castle in 2024 include Simon Amstell, Nina Conti, Rory Bremner, Maisie Adam, Gary Delaney, Angela Barnes, Janine Harouni, Spencer Jones, Eshaan Akbar, Stephen Bailey, Matt Richardson, Matt Bragg, and resident Closeup Comedy host, Freddy Quinne.

Where: The Blue Lamp Comedy Club in Aberdeen
Irish farmer's son, and general 'Nasty Character' Mike Rice is one of Ireland and the UK’s fastest-rising comedy stars. Having started comedy in 2015, Mike has amassed a large online following from podcast and stand-up clips, regularly getting millions of views on various platforms.
As well as co-hosting Mike & Vittorio’s Guide to Parenting with Vittorio Angelone, and Big Mike and The Chief with Rob Moriarty, Mike has appeared multiple times on smash hit podcast Have a Word, and released his first comedy special in October 2023.
After multiple sold-out Edinburgh runs, Mike brings his brand new show on to Aberdeen at the end of the month. An unholy mix of the poetic and the crass, if you like dark, wild and silly comedy this show is for you.

The Muslims Are Coming … so round up your friends and join us for an uplifting night of laughter! If you’ve never been to one of these nights before then get ready for belly laughs that are big enough to burn off an entire Biryani! It’s a comedy night with a whole heap of halal-hilarity to celebrate Ramadan & Eid. The Muslims Are Coming brings you a memorable lineup of both established and new comedy talent from across the globe.

Tom Lawrinson is in a class of his own and is one of the funniest new stand-ups in the circuit, and he is going on tour presenting his new show Hubba Hubba; a stand-up hour with weird, wonderful and completely unexpected punchlines.

Behind the Wizard's Curtain Comedy

Where: Caroline Of Brunswick in Brighton
An alternative comedy night at the heart of Brighton's comedy scene in the 'Caroline of Brunswick' on every 2nd Saturday of the month, Behind The Wizards Curtain is Returning this month for a Brighton Fringe Preview Special!
You can join in for a fabulous line-up of the best alternative acts around! Featuring anything from off-beat stand-up to sketches to musical acts to clowning, including Chris East, Stephen Catling, Jaz Mattu, Rebekka Turner, Nick Kirk, as well as your ever-so-welcoming host Brad Jon Kane!

After two hugely successful national comedy tours, Dan Nightingale (host of the Have A Word Podcast) is doing something a little different in 2024: He's hosting a run of shows with some of his favourite comedians on the bill. With Dan doing what he does best and some of his very funny Stand-Up friends (or fiends) smashing sets... you won't want to miss out.

Fog Box presents Alun Cochrane

Coming to the Fogbox Comedy Club in Todmorden is Alun Cochrane, a tall, gangly Northerner who delivers his own brand of no-nonsense humour who has made appearances on Just A Minute, Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. CLOSEUP COMEDY at Herberts Yard w/ Mark Nelson and more.
When: Wednesday 1st May 2024
Where: Herberts Yard in Birmingham
After one hell of a year with 15 SOLD OUT shows on the spin, CLOSEUP COMEDY is back at Herberts Yard for 2024 on the first Wednesday of every month. They've welcomed the likes of Angelos Epithemiou, Scott Bennett, Paul Mccaffrey, Ethan Akbar, Andrew Ryan, Eric Rushton, Josh Pugh and so many more, and this night looks set to match if not blow those out of the water.
With a lineup that includes Mark Nelson, Hayley Ellis, Robin Morgan, and resident MC Freddy Quinne, it's going to be a belter.
