We are back once again with the May edition of Last Laugh, where we look at all the best comedy events on sale on Skiddle in 2024; check them out below!

It's May! The sun is shining, the nights are getting shorter and everything just seems a bit happier, don't you think? Well, why not dial that happiness up even further, and book a Comedy Night? Where you and your pals can pack into a room and giggle away at some of the UK's finest comedians.

Throughout the month, and into the warmer months of 2024, we've got a huge variety of comedy shows for you to test your funny bone at. From huge comedy festivals with a castle as a backdrop; to nights from the biggest names in comedy like Omid Djalili and Maisie Adam; to several multi-comedian variety nights where you truly get bang for your buck, and a proper good giggle to go alongside. Whatever you're after, we've got all the gigs to satiate your comedy needs in May and the coming months.

Comedy at the Castle

When: Friday 24th - Sunday 26th May 2024

Where: Warwick Castle in Warwick

Following its massively successful debut year in 2023, Closeup Comedy, the midland's best comedy night, is returning to the picturesque backdrop of Warwick Castle with 'Comedy at the Castle'! A weekend of comedy catered by the amazing Digbeth Dining Club.

Steeped in history and grandeur, the Castle will play host to some of the biggest names in the world of comedy, all of whom will have your funny bone tickled like never before!

Such names coming to the Castle in 2024 include Simon Amstell, Nina Conti, Rory Bremner, Maisie AdamGary Delaney, Angela Barnes, Janine Harouni, Spencer Jones, Eshaan AkbarStephen BaileyMatt Richardson, Matt Bragg, and resident Closeup Comedy host, Freddy Quinne.

Maisie Adam: Appraisal at the Old Fire Station

When: Tuesday 15th October 2024

Where: Old Fire Station in Carlisle

Fresh from Live At The Apollo, A League Of Their Own and Have I Got News For You, Maisie Adam is heading back out on tour with a brand new show. 

She’s five years into her job as a comedian now, so she’s due an appraisal. Join her for the ultimate performance review,  where you’ll either see just why she was awarded Best New Act and nominated Best Newcomer…or, you’ll see someone who’s ready for “organisational restructure”.

Laugh in the Park - Glasgow's Southside Comedy Festival

When: Saturday 13th July 2024

Where: Queens Park Arena in Glasgow

Laugh in the Park, Glasgow Southside's annual comedy festival, returns for its fourth year on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at the Queens Park Arena, returning to the aptly monikered 'The Bandstand', for a beautiful outdoor event featuring a lineup of 10 of the best performers in Scottish stand-up, promising three hours of award-winning, side-splitting comedy (plus intervals).

Announced recently, the festival will host the likes of Craig Hill, Susie McCabe, Viv Gee, Gary Faulds, Gary Little, James Gardner, Laura Quinn Goh, Mikey Motton, Rory M Spence, Paddy Linton, with the brilliant Billy Kirkwood overseeing proceedings. CLOSEUP COMEDY at Hockley Social Club w/ Carl Donnelly

When: Wednesday 29th May 2024

Where: Hockley Social Club in Birmingham

One of Birmingham's biggest monthly comedy nights, CLOSEUP COMEDY, is back for 2024! Four of the best stand ups in the country, plus street food and amazing drinks courtesy of the incredible Digbeth Dining Club; and this night looks to be among one of the very best on the calendar. 

With a lineup that includes the wonderful Carl Donnelly, as well as Hatty Preston, Josh Jones, and resident MC Freddy Quinne. Basically, it's it's going to be a belter. Grab tickets below!

The Persian Comedy Powerhouse, Omid Djalili, performs his critically acclaimed new show NAMASTE where Omid peacefully bows to his inner anger and unleashes a torrent of comedic vitriol upon the current state of this dangerously messed up planet.

With Dan doing what he does best and some of his very funny Stand-Up friends (or fiends) smashing sets... you won't want to miss out.

In Warrington, Dan introduces Eshaan Akbar, Dean Coughlin & a Special Guest for a night of incredible stand-up and the best type of comedy mayhem.

Red Richardson

Red Richardson is one of the most exciting new stand-up comedians in the UK. His online ‘Stay Toxic’ sketches have garnered over 30 million views, and quite frankly are one of the funniest things on the internet at the minute.

Join him on his first-ever UK tour for a hilarious hour of stand-up comedy where at the time of writing (12.46 pm on 08/11/23) he will cover topics as wide-ranging as Saudi Arabia, Drugs, Armitage and Shanks, Mullets, Dictators and the benefits of Drinking alone.

House of Stand Up Presents Paul McCaffrey & Friends

Where: Coulsdon Club in Coulsdon

Paul McCaffrey is one of the funniest blokes about, no-nonsense, full of mental stories, and inherently a Londoner; Paul has completed two sell-out tours of the UK with Sean Lock on his Keep It Light tour in 2017, and more recently toured with Kevin Bridges on his record-breaking Brand New tour in 2018; as well as two solo tours of his own, Suburban Legend in 2018, and Lemon in 2020/21.

Paul is also the co-host of the smash hit podcast What’s Upset You Now? with fellow comedian Seann Walsh. Basically, he is seasoned at enticing some laughs out of anyone and everyone, with backing from some of the best to ever do it; so grab your tickets now and see what all the fuss is about.
