A former nightclub in Carlisle has been given a new lease of life, having been taken over, reinvigorated and reopened as The Melting Pot.

The three storey heritage building in the heart of Carlisle city centre has previously been home to The Front Page, The Basement, Jacksons and the Essen restaurant.

Now with new owners, a new look, and a new direction, The Melting Pot is set to take pride of place amongst Carlise's nightlife. With brand new décor and JBL soundsystem, The Melting Pot definitely looks – and sounds – the part.  But of course it’s not just about bricks and mortar – it’s about what’s on within.  The soundtrack has now been programmed, and with midweek nights including indie, drum & bass, dubstep and r&b, and full on funkage every weekend, there's a night to suit all tastes.

There'll also be special nights, such as the fourth birthday party of local promoters Uber, this Friday (26th November). As well as General Jimmy, Liam Bulloch, Tim Forrester, Mike Yates and Adam Brown, the club are incredibly excited to welcome Greg Wilson to the club.  One of the first DJs to be heard at clubs like the Haçienda in Manchester and a pioneer of the electro scene, he is the master of the re-edit and his sets are always electric. And of course, the club is pulling out all the stops for New Years Eve, with a special DJ set by old skool Hacienda legend Graeme Park. Parky has always been a firm favourite in Carlisle and the 31st is already set to be a night to remember. Open from 9pm-4am (last entry 11pm), tickets are a very respectable £10 (£12 on the door), so it's not overly wallet-stretching.
