Many people regard the festival season as running from June to August, but actually some of the most amazing music events take place at the tail end of the summer. September is a BIG month for festivals, and we've taken a look at some of the best on offer for the month ahead, including our golden festival ticket.
If you're not up for playing 'will it rain?' roulette in the UK, Outlook Festival takes place in the alluring city of Pula in Croatia from Wednesday 3rd to Sunday 7th and showcases some of the best names in dub, DnB, garage, house and more. Mint Festival in Leeds will provide house and techno lovers with their fix back in Britain as Loco Dice, MK, Maceo Plex and loads others play on Saturday 20th.
Sticking with dance music festivals, EH1 in Scotland has a line up that would make any raver's mouth water. Duke Dumont, Bontan, Paul Van Dyke and tons more will be headed to Edinburgh on Saturday 6th. A little bit of Ibiza magic is headed to the Midlands on Friday 12th to Sunday 14th for Zoo Project Festival, you can catch Steve Lawler, Ten Walls and Craig Richards, to name just a few.
Of course, not all festivals focus on one specific genre and in terms of an all-rounder with something for everyone, Bestival is the crème de la crème. Their theme for this year is Desert Island Disco and the line up is incredibly diverse, (check out our top 5 acts to see at Bestival here). The festival takes place in The Isle of White from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th.
Another hearty helping of music, art and comedy will be available from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th at Shrewsbury Fields Forever. Alchemy Festival in Lincoln provides a more family-friendly experience with a wide range of workshops, circus performers and walkabout entertainers on Friday 19th to Sunday 21st.
With so much on offer, it was tricky picking our festival golden ticket, but Festival No.6 takes the crown. The festival is set in the idyllic village of Portmeirion. If the astounding scenery including the Colonnade Gardens and the promenade along the estuary will provide the back drop to the stages from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th.
The festival is truly unique. From hidden stages to surreal street theatre, the whole weekend is set to be an unforgettable adventure. The line up features some insanely talented acts including London Grammar, Pet Shop Boys and Todd Terje. Grab your golden ticket here.
