Following on from last years inaugural Festival Of House - an event that saw the cream of the beloved genre descend on Dundee and Tayside for a well received rave spanning the the spectrum of house music - The Rhumba Club return, determined to outdo the success of 2013.
This years incarnation sees them take acid house revelry, mischief and snake hipping tomfoolery to the next level, by bringing its biggest line up yet to Dundee's Fat Sam's.
Kicking off on Friday 10th October, the festival eases in with the sounds of acid house don A Guy Called Gerald, flanked by Dicky Trisco and Is Kill. That acts a nice precursor for the mayhem on Saturday 11th, which sees a mammoth selection of artists arrive to rock Dundee to its very core.
On offer across six rooms will be the likes of deck wizard James Zabiela, an exclusive DJ set from indie rock masters Foals, the classic house sounds of Marshall Jefferson and an unmissable appearance from one of the biggest names in US techno - Joey Beltram (relive his anthem 'Energy Flash' above).
Keeping things eclectic, A Festival Of House also welcomes the prog heavy sounds of Jeremy Olander, some rip-roaring techno from long-standing Glaswegian two piece Slam, intoxicating disco from the Horse Meat Disco crew (check out their mix above), and a DJ set from XL Recordings very own Friendly Fires.
The quality continues with the immersive sounds of Dave Seaman, modern deep house flavours from Bontan and some proper feel good vibes from Danny Rampling and Farley Jackmaster Funk.
The festival closes on the Sunday, with The Rhumba Soundsystem seeing some of the club's residents unleashing sets that promises to be an eclectic blend of their all time favourite tracks, guilty pleasures and some cheeky, unexpected gems. Hacienda legend Graeme Park will also be on hand to give the festival the send-off it deserves. Tickets for each day are sold separately, but you can grab your Saturday tickets here, or at the foot of this article.
