Recently, Whalley Range’s The Carlton Club revealed they had been served an unexpected eviction notice, threatening the club’s future. Established in 1911, the South Manchester club has served its community for 111 years. In a bid to save the club, Kyle Falconer of The View will headline a #SaveTheCarltonClub fundraising event on Sunday 29th September 2024 at The Carlton Club itself.

The grassroots institution has stood as a meeting point for community, connection, and creativity all these years. In response to the eviction notice during a time in which dozens of clubs across the UK have closed for good, Manchester’s music scene is uniting in an attempt to save one of the community’s valued clubs.

A daytime event, the gig will start at 2pm and run until 7pm, seeing performances from Falconer plus Aziz Ibrahim, who performed with The Stone Roses and Ian Brown, Leon Maya of Northern Uproar, singer-songwriter Nico Harmony, rapper Prose, Britain’s Got Talent Finalist Micky P Kerr, and a DJ set from Spin Klass.

About the event, a spokesperson for Carlton Club said, "We're delighted to be working with Broken Wing Club on this incredible event. As a grassroots club currently fighting eviction, it's proof of our strength and resilience that we're continuing to attract big names and major events."

Staying focused on the community aspect of events and clubs like Carlton, tickets are set at just £10. Secure yours now towards the bottom of this page to help The Carlton Club secure its future.

Other ways the public can help is by signing the petition to help save the club and by donating to Carlton Club’s GoFundMe
