The Warehouse Project kicked off its 2022 season last Saturday (10th September) with thousands of music fans from across the North descending on the Depot Mayfield warehouse for Repercussion Festival - a day and night of groundbreaking music set across the full expanse of the 10,000-capacity venue.

One of over 30 events running each weekend right up until New Year's Day 2023, the seasonal series will be responsible for bringing some of the biggest, most acclaimed and in-demand names in electronic music to Manchester, much to the delight of nightlife enthusiasts.

Coinciding with the launch of the 2022 season, The Warehouse Project has today unveiled a brand new documentary detailing the journey of the brand thus far. The ten-minute film provides exclusive insight into the workings and inspiration behind what is now a world-renowned clubbing institution, from its early conception at Boddingtons Brewery in Strangeways to the legendary underground car park on Store Street, right up until the present day at Depot Mayfield, with a host of special appearances from some familiar faces dotted throughout.

Reflections from founders, Sacha Lord, Sam Kandel and Rich McGinnis, plus off-the-cuff interviews with an array of artists and former performers, including Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Kerri Chandler, Jayda G, Denis Sulta, Benji B, Midland, Moxie, George Fitzgerald, Jamz Supernova, Jamie Jones and DJ Shadow, to name a few, aim to shine a light on the club brand's development whilst sharing the lengths the team have gone to making The Warehouse Project the experience that it is today.

Commenting on the move to Depot Mayfield and the years following the pandemic, Sam Kandel, said:

”The curation of the Warehouse Project is constantly evolving and it’s taken its biggest quantum leap since we moved to Depot Mayfield. The reward of seeing a venue full of people going absolutely mental and loving the experience that you curated is the thing that keeps you going.”

“The whole pandemic was a crazy time for The Warehouse Project, looking back at it now it’s easy to forget the intensity of the anxiety that we were going through, as people were in all walks of life, but I think as soon as that started to fade, then all there was, was anticipation for the return.”
