Exciting news for indie rock fans in Yorkshire as The Wedding Present are set for an intimate show at The Chapel in Leeds this summer in aid of The National Autistic Society.
The band will be playing a homecoming show on Saturday 9th June as part of a short series of concert dates in 2018 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of their first singles collection, Tommy.
Tommy is a compilation which gathers the band’s first four singles and accompanying b-sides and adds selected tracks from two early BBC Radio 1 sessions. It was released, in July 1988, on The Wedding Present’s own record label, Reception Records.
‘Tommy’ provides an overview of the The Wedding Present’s frenetic output before the debut album George Best and shows the band at their guitar spanking best.
