The night of wellies, hot chocolates, and choruses of oohs and ahhs as explosions of colour light up the sky is here. Whether young or old, Bonfire Night is a silver lining of the darker, colder months, and if you're local to Nottingham, then you're in for a treat with the range of events near you. 

Sadly, the council’s free event at Forest Recreation Ground has been cancelled again this year. But don’t worry. If you’re wondering where to watch the fireworks in Nottingham, there are still plenty of brilliant firey get-togethers coming to the city and the surrounding towns and areas so you can enjoy the night to the fullest.

Fireworks Night with Street Food Extravaganza

When: Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November 2024 

Where: Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club in West Bridgford, Nottingham 

Bringing two exciting Bonfire Night events to Nottingham this year, NCCC blends the classic festivities with a street food showcase. Featuring local street food vendors, bars, a DJ, and a spectacular fireworks display. Families will enjoy this event, with free family activities to keep the young ones engaged.

 


 

Disney in the Dark at Nottingham Racecourse

Where: Nottingham Racecourse in Nottingham

Nottingham Racecourse is changing things up a bit, bringing a Disney-themed Bonfire Night to Nottingham. The fireworks show will be set to iconic Disney music, and attendees are encouraged to dress as their beloved Disney characters. Before the show, visitors can enjoy food, drinks, and a fantastic selection of funfair rides. Fireworks and the Disney characters we know and love, you can't ask for much more, can you?

 


 

Bonfire and Fireworks Night

When: Saturday 2nd November 2024

Where: Papplewick and Linby Village Hall in Papplewick, Nottingham

Drive 25 minutes from the city centre to Papplewick for this Bonfire Night celebration with a dazzling fireworks display and a blazing bonfire. The gates open at 6pm so you can settle in and grab a tasty burger or hot dog, a warm doughnut, a drink from the licensed bar, and some glow sticks for the kids (and for yourself, because who doesn’t love glow sticks). Then the fire will be lit at 7pm before the fireworks at 7:15pm.

Where: Norwood Park in Southwell, Nottinghamshire

A bit further out from Nottingham but an excellent choice, Norwood Park invites guests to a magical Bonfire Night at the elegant country house. Offering brilliant fireworks and delicious food, they're preparing for an unforgettable evening with a lively festive atmosphere as colours illuminate the sky. If you’d like to make a full evening of it, you can grab “hospitality tickets” for exclusive access to the house and terrace with a private bar, a complimentary drink on arrival, and priority parking.

 


  

Hucknall Funfair and Fireworks 2024

When: Sunday 27th October 2024

Where: The Engine Rooms in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire

North of Nottingham in Hucknall, The Engine Rooms is hosting two dazzling fireworks displays by Dynamite Fireworks, the impressive runners-up at The British Musical Fireworks Championship 2024. One display will feature softer-sound fireworks, ensuring even those with small ears can enjoy the evening, while the other display will be synchronized to music. They’ll also have captivating fire performers, exciting funfair rides and stalls, bars open until late, and a variety of food stalls. It’s going to be fantastic.

 


 

There’ll be so many fantastic firework displays in Nottingham this year. So despite the loss of the council event, there are still opportunities to remember, remember, the 5th of November and have some wholesome fun.
