The night of wellies, hot chocolates, and choruses of oohs and ahhs as explosions light up the sky is just around the corner. Whether young or old, Bonfire Night is a silver lining of the darker, colder months, and we can’t wait to welcome it back to Nottingham.
Sadly, the council’s free event at Forest Recreation Ground has been cancelled again this year. But don’t worry. If you’re wondering where to watch the fireworks in Nottingham, there’ll be some brilliant events coming to the city and areas around it so you can enjoy the night to the fullest.

Fireworks Night with Street Food Extravaganza

Where: Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club in West Bridgford, Nottingham
Bringing two Bonfire Night events to Nottingham this year, NCCC fuses the usual antics with a street food extravaganza. Boasting local street food traders, bars, a DJ, and an epic fireworks display. Families should like this one with free family entertainment to keep the little ones entertained.
Disney in the Dark at Nottingham Racecourse

Nottingham Racecourse is switching things up a bit, bringing a Disney-themed Bonfire Night to Nottingham. The fireworks show will be set to the best Disney music, and attendees are encouraged to dress as their favourite Disney characters. Before the show, punters can enjoy food, drinks, and funfair rides.

Where: Papplewick and Linby Village Hall in Papplewick, Nottingham
Drive 25 minutes from the city centre to Papplewick for this Bonfire Night celebration with a spectacular fireworks display and a bonfire. The gates open at 6pm so you can settle in and grab a burger or hot dog, a doughnut, a drink from the licensed bar, and some glow sticks for the kids (and for yourself, everyone loves glow sticks). Then the fire will be lit at 7pm before the fireworks at 7:15pm.

A little further out from Nottingham but a fantastic choice, Norwood Park invites guests to an enchanting Bonfire Night at the stunning country house. Offering dazzling fireworks and food, they're gearing up for a memorable evening with the buzzing festive atmosphere while colours light up the sky. If you want to make a proper evening of it, you can grab “hospitality tickets” for private access to the house and terrace and private bar, a welcome drink on arrival, and priority parking.
Hucknall Funfair and Fireworks 2024

Where: The Engine Rooms in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire
North of Nottingham in Hucknall, The Engine Rooms is bringing two fireworks displays by Dynamite Fireworks, the runners-up at The British Musical Fireworks Championship 2024. One display will be for lower-noise fireworks to ensure even ones with little ears can enjoy the night, with the other display set to music. They’ll also have fire performers, funfair rides and stalls, bars open until late, and food stalls. It's going to be ace.
There’ll be so many fantastic firework displays in Nottingham this year. So despite the loss of the council event, there are still opportunities to remember, remember, the 5th of November and have some wholesome fun.
