Where: Opening times vary, check the website for details

If you and your pals are after somewhere where you won't want to move on then Sheffield's first and only box park, The Steelyard, has all the ingredients you'll need for a proper good night. Found in the exceptionally trendy Kelham Island, the shipping container retail park is highly influenced by the area's industrial past whilst also serving up the goods with exciting food, drink, retail and of course Beer, plus it's one of the biggest Sheffield beer gardens about, with a 3000 capacity. If you and your mates can plan for an event here then the garden turns into boogie central, and you'll be dancing the night away before you know it.

Anyone who calls the Steel City home and is partial to an oat milk latte and tattered Doc Martens will rave about Yellow Arch. Found slightly off the beaten path in Kelham Island, it's one of the city's coolest venues both for live music and a late-night booze. But what truly sells Yellow Arch is its beer garden. Situated in its industrial courtyard, it's always lively come the weekend, and has a vintage aesthetic fit for depop queens and corduroy kings alike. So with a quality selection of craft beers and a vibe unlike any other, this one has to be on any list of the best beer gardens in Sheffield.

Where: Rivelin Works, Sidney St, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S1 4RH

Another industrial gem here, Sidney and Matilda is one of the coolest spots in the whole city. Whether it's the low ceilinged basement that holds some of the best up-coming bands, the incredible new 'The Forest' space, or (what we're here for), its bustling beer garden, the former warehouse always serves up the best vibes. It just got that vintage, cool aesthetic and the crowd it attracts also fits this bracket. So if you and your mates have spent ages on google maps trying to figure out where to go, put the phone down, and give one of the best beer gardens in Sheffield a try.

Whilst Peddlers isn't open all the time (in fact it's only open for one weekend a month,) when the warehouse opens its door for its famous market nights, it's one of the best things you can do in the Steel City. With a huge bar, loads of independent food vendors, and some cool little pop-up shops, Peddlers is an absolute dream. The DJ will supply all the tunes whilst you and your mates laugh the night away to some amazing craft beers and funky gins, we promise that this will be one of the best beer gardens in Sheffield for you to visit.

Sporting the second most famous neon sign in the Steel City (Leadmill still takes the cake I'm afraid), the Riverside is a familiar sight for many living in Sheff; and, with a beer garden like this one, it will soon be for you as well. The Riverside in Kelham island has riverside views, a constantly changing selection of some of the finest craft beers in the city and beyond, and the food is top tier too. Abit more of a traditional pub, the Riverside offers a different vibe to many of the industrial settings on this list, and to be honest, it's pretty gorgeous once you're out there in the sun. A Sheffield beer garden we can't get enough of, and one that you can't miss (just look for the sign!)

With loads of nooks and crannies and a great selection of beers, you and your pals are bound to have a great night here, plus, it's open until 3 in the morning almost every night! So if you're after some late-night antics surrounded by an amazing crowd in a recently refurbished beer garden that screams cool, then the Washy is the place to be.

Where: 105 Neepsend Ln, Neepsend, Sheffield S3 8AT

Now for something a little bit different. Found in Kelham Island, this nifty little garden that gives off the vibe of your cool aunt's garden rather than the back of a pub, is a must-visit for any fans of the quaint and quirky. With vintage and recycled furniture and a garden full, of vibrant plants and ornaments, it's super original and provides a bit more of a chilled vibe than others on the list. Probably not the place for a late night with a big group, but is wonderful for a quieter night catching up with your closest mates.

Dorothy Pax is one of those places that just never seems to get the recognition it deserves. This hidden gem of the Steel City is found just outside the city centre under some of the archers at Victoria Quays, and its beer garden is a stunning place to sit and drink the night away. Serving up a variety of locally brewed beer as well as providing a firepit for the after-dark crowd, it's a laid-back, friendly and gorgeous place to sit back with a cold one. So, if you and your pals are bored of going to the same old places in Sheffield, then you just have to check out this Sheffield beer garden, it won't disappoint.

Tucked away through a small arch in the city's Steel Making Quarter, the Saw Grinders Union is a hipster delight and its stunning courtyard is second to none in the city in terms of the industrial aesthetic. Abit more of a civilised bev than what you'd get elsewhere, this place offers up some interesting locally brewed beers and a massive selection of vegan options. It's truly a great vibe and you and your mates can enjoy a (bit more civilized) pint alongside some fantastic food and scenery, a must-visit - and one you may not have heard of - when doing the rounds of the best beer gardens in Sheffield.

Dam House

Image: Dam House on Facebook

When: 2pm - 11pm Sunday to Monday, 2pm - 12am Friday, 12pm - 12am Saturday

Where: Mushroom Ln, Sheffield S3 7NZ

Found on the banks of Crookes Valley Park, Dam House has been serving up pints to the hundreds of students that rush to the side of the pond when the sun starts shining. Not only does its beer garden extend onto the surrounding grass, meaning it can fit a hell of a lot of people, but it delivers cheap pints and cocktails by the bucketload, right to where you're sat. If you're a bit older you may want to give this one a miss (as it is predominantly a student pub), but if you're younger, the vibes here on a sunny day are hard to come across elsewhere. Laughing, piss-taking and stumbles home should be expected on your visit, it's truly one of the best beer gardens in Sheffield for that mid-degree.
