The best gay anthems and LGBTQ Pride songs

Celebrate June with our Pride playlist designed to make you dance featuring pop, house, techno, and more!

Last updated: 6th Jun 2024

Happy Pride Month, everyone!

June is a month of protest, celebrating LGBTQ culture and heroes, loving and accepting ourselves and each other, and elevating the voices of the community.

With music deeply ingrained in queer spaces, no Pride celebration is complete without a banging playlist, so we at Skiddle have collated the best tracks to soundtrack our month.

Since many Pride playlists focus on classics like ‘I’m Coming Out’, ‘I Will Survive’, and ‘Vogue’, we’ve taken a slightly different approach. We’ve hand-picked the biggest, baddest, and most danceable LGBTQ songs by the likes of Honey Dijon, Queen Bey, Charli XCX, The Blessed Madonna, and SOPHIE.

Here are the best gay anthems you should be spinning at your Pride pre-drinks and afterparty. Or... just the entirety of June! Find the full playlist towards the bottom of this page.

BREAK MY SOUL - Beyoncé

What an album Renaissance is. Brilliant. Incredible. Amazing. Show-stopping. Spectacular. ‘BREAK MY SOUL’ with its “I don’t give a f*ck” attitude, groove, and euphoric piano became an instant gay anthem in our opinion. Not to mention the entire album is a homage to house music’s black queer roots. There may or may not be another Renaissance track on the playlist…

Work - Honey Dijon feat. Dave Giles II, Cor.Ece & Mike Dunn

Seemingly created for vogueing and destroying dancefloors with your friends, ‘Work’, is simply irresistible. Taken from Queen of House Honey Dijon’s Black Girl Magic, we’ve been obsessed with it since its drop in 2022.

Von dutch - Charli XCX

Modern icon Charli XCX just had to be on our playlist. It’d be a crime if she wasn’t. So we added this pulsating track and her adrenaline-surging ‘Vroom Vroom’ since everyone at the Pride pre-drinks will be singing along.

I Will Survive - Eric Kupper mix

An anthem for those who’ve survived whatever life has thrown at them, ‘I Will Survive’ will always be a Pride classic. Breathing new life into one of the most classic Pride songs, this remix makes us want to hit the dancefloor and sing our hearts out ASAP.

Sick Bitch - LSDXOXO

Dirty, delicious, and driving, this one’s shameless and addictive.

Immaterial - SOPHIE

We could never forget about the visionary trans icon SOPHIE. Sweet, legendary, and an all-around banger, ‘Immaterial’ is just a slice of the incredible music SOPHIE left behind. RIP, SOPHIE.

IT GIRL - Aliyah's Interlude

Attitude, attitude, attitude! “How you mad at me 'cause I'm c***? B**ch. How you mad at me 'cause I run sh*t?” What a debut…

Free Yourself - Jessie Ware

A phenomenal song from a phenomenal album, Jessie Ware killed this one. The song champions confidence and individuality while literally telling us to free ourselves. It’s the perfect gay anthem.

Pillow Princess - TAAHLIAH remix

The anthem for all the pillow princesses out there. Club-ready, euphoric, and hard-hitting all in one, you can’t beat a bit of TAAHLIAH.

Rush - Troye Sivan

Sexy, summery, youthful, fun, and infectious, ‘Rush’ encapsulates the euphoria and freedom many feel during Pride.

Strut - Elohim & Big Freedia

About the track, Elohim said, "'Strut' is a daily reminder to all of us, myself included, that the power we hold within ourselves is infinite." Big Freedia also said the track is about "owning your attitude no matter who you are." What more could you want from your Pride songs?
