The best new up-and-coming comedians in 2025

From established club comics primed to step into the limelight to those bursting onto the scene and leaving only laughter in their wake; we've looked at all the comedians for whom 2025 could be their year.

Date published: 8th Jan 2025

There's no shame in craving a dose of comedy from the biggest names in the scene, from your Acasters to your Kumars, your Millicans to your Ryans, your Manfords to your Flanagans. But, like stumbling upon a rising indie band, discovering fresh comedic talent is a unique thrill - especially when their punchlines leave you doubled over with laughter.

Of course, not everyone has the time to scour the UK’s bustling comedy club circuit for these hidden gems, so we’ve done the hard work for you. Here at Skiddle, we’ve handpicked the best up-and-coming comedians of 2025, performers we’re certain will light up stages, screens, and feeds in the near future.

From new kids on the block, to established club comics making their break into the mainstream, to social media jokesters stepping onto the stage and into the limelight; these are the most exciting emerging comedians of 2025!

However, remember, Humour is always subjective, and we've chosen a diverse range to cater to different tastes. Finding the perfect match may require a bit of research on your part.

Gbemi Oladipo

There's no better place to start this list than Gbemi Oladipo. He had an absolute monster breakout year in 2024, appearing on everything from the 1XTRA Comedy Special to tearing up the London circuit, to appearances on podcasts like Have A Word. We reckon 2025 is the year he truly conquers the spotlight.

He’s a regular collaborator on Top Secret bills with the incredible Andrew Mensah and is so infectiously charismatic on stage that it's near impossible not to crack at least a smile (although we’re certain you’ll be doing much more.)

Hatty Preston

London-born, Chicago-built, Liverpool-living; Hatty Preston is absolutely hilarious and someone who HAS to be on your radar to see in 2025.

Whether she’s opening for major US and UK comics including Theo Von, Chris DiStefano, Jessica Kirson and Jack Whitehall; being a regular with the Have A Word Boys on episodes and specials; or on her new side-splitting podcast with Scouse queen Kay Nicholson - Hatty kills, and we can’t wait to see what’s next

Marty Gleeson

Marty Gleeson is an Irish comedian based in London who was not only a finalist in the 2024 BBC New Comedy Awards, but also won LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year 2024!

Known for her offbeat, disarming, and whimsical performance style, and her playful relationship with tension, Marty is rising fast and has all the makings of a star. One you simply have to see given the opportunity in 2025.

Jack Skipper

If you are addicted to your reels then you’ll likely have seen Jack Skipper and the brilliant observational skits he does on there. A former carpet fitter from working-class South London, Jack’s skits have earned him over 15 million likes on TikTok alone and 290,000 followers on Instagram.

But last year, Jack made the jump to stand-up and has been murdering crowds up and down the country, even receiving a nomination for Best Newcomer nomination at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. On stage, the only way is up for Jack in 2025.

Kyra Gray

If you’re a comedy fan in South London, or a big Mo Gilligan fan, then the chances you’ve heard of Kyra are high. Yet, we don’t think enough people know just how great she is. But from supporting the likes of Tom Davis, Guz Khan, and Romesh Ranganathan, to performing on Comedy Central Live and BBC 1Xtra’s Comedy Gala, we reckon that will be chagrin quickly in 2025.

Charismatic and captivating, with a character that could only come out of London, Kyra Gray is sensational, and you have to see her live this year.

Tino Giacoto

An Italian living in Manchester who has been tearing up the North West scene, Tino Giacoto is a man on the rise.

From his zany and sarc-fuelled skits on socials that channel the struggles of migrants in the UK - particularly the north, and particularly our food (sorry Tino) - to his near-constant progression on stage and on bills, Tino is someone you have to catch live in 2025

John Tothill

Rioutous and resplendent, John Tothill has had one hell of a year in comedy. From having two incredibly well-reviewed back-to-back shows at the Edinburgh Fringe to appearances on Comedy Central Live, we reckon John is only just getting started, and 2025 will see him fly.

Go and see him live this year, just be warned, he is almost guaranteed to be better dressed than you are.

Charlie Ashton

Probably the newest name on this list, but he’s here for a reason, Charlie has been tearing up the North West scene and leaving nothing but laughs in his wake.

Whether at Hot Water, Frog and Bucket, or Creatures Comedy Club, his deliciously deadpan observations and excellent crowd interactions make him truly one to watch. If you ever see him on a bill in 2025, you know you’re in for a good night.

Jin Hao Li

“Made in China and marinated in Singapore”, Jin Hao is riding the wave of comedic adoration, with 2024 seeing him pick up a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Award for his show Swimming in a Submarine, a year after he was a finalist for BBC New Comedy Awards.

He is a distinct new voice in the scene that delivers equal doses of profundity and surrealism, all with a whimsical edge. A must-see in 2025.

Kyle Legacy

With a record number of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, being a regular host of some of the wildest comedy shows in the North West, and being an absolute master of on-stage riffing - We reckon Kyle Legacy should be talked about way more.

Whilst by no means a newcomer, Kyle has just got back from killing it at the famous Mothership in Austin, and we hope it catapults him into getting all the plaudits in 2025. Just double-check your ticket to see whether he’s going to be performing with clothes on or not.
