As we approach the end of 2011, Sankeys continues to keep its foot on the gas in order to see out the year in a way befitting the scale and successes of the past 12 months.
The first in weekend in December sees the club plays host to two very different yet similarly euphoric line-ups, with the Mixmag Tour hitting Sankeys this Friday and German Wunderkid Dixon at the helm on Saturday 3rd.
First off, global dance music brand Mixmag make a stop off at Sankeys on Friday 3rd with their Mixmag Tour, headlined by Italian legend Stefano Noferini. It’s very few DJs that can lay complete authority over a wide variety of types of house music, but Stefano can. His remixes and productions are played by everyone from Paul van Dyk to Ritchie Hawtin, Carl Cox to Tiesto and he remains a headline act at festivals and clubs across the globe, notably Tresor, Pacha and Creamfields.

Joining him will be Dutch don Norman Doray and main room lynchpin Juan Kidd. Doray continues to wow clubbers across the globe, his sound representative of the fresh n filthy aesthetic his nation is currently getting props for as well as resorting to more subtle and textured sounds. Juan Kidd, who can count Subliminal, Defected and Steve Angello’s Size records as backers of his beats, rounds off a simply scintillating selection of stars.
Friday 2nd Dec also sees the 5th edition of Sankeys’ newest party, Continue, flourish further. George Fitzgerald makes his debut at the hallowed club; part of Scuba's Hotflush Recordings family, George is producing music along the lines of his label associates - soulful future garage with lush synths and deep house vibes. George is playing a 2 and a half hour set, and don’t forget Continue is a free party.

One night later and it is Deutsch wunderkind Dixon at the helm with his Innervisions imprint coming to Manchester for an extended 3-hour set. The record label he runs alongside Ame and Henrik Schwarz is rightly regarded as one of the finest in the world, with Dixon’s mesmerising sets spanning house disco and techno representative of the high standard of the label’s output.

One of the biggest tracks of the year was also released by Innervisions, with Dixon’s own remix of Osunlade’s ‘Envision’ the subtly exhilarating anthem of 2011. With the crew also taking Ibiza by storm as well as rest of the globe (their take-over of We Love... Space in July went down in Balearic history) Dixon and Innervisions have never been stronger; an extended set in Sankeys is sure to be equally as timeless.
Sankeys’ own deck wizards Ellesse and Jozef K add further gravitas to proceedings, along with Stretford Dogs Club who also star.
