Back for its fifth edition on March 27th - 29th, Threshold Festival of Music and Arts has been the toast of Liverpool's cultural calender since its inception. With The Guardian describing it as an event where 'homegrown musicians, artists, poets and dancers congregate within the warehouses of Liverpool's Baltic Triangle', it's easy to see why the city has welcomed the Threshold experience with open arms.
Threshold last night revealed their second wave of line up additions, with future soul, jazz and afrobeat twelve piece Nubiyan Twist heading up the additions.
The Leeds and London based band have earned much respect for their rabble rousing, dynamic on stage performances include infectious grooves, punchy arrangements, Brazilian rapping, turntablism, futuristic textures and dub effects, all held together by the sultry, soulful delivery of lead singer Nubiya Brandon.
Nothing short of an assault on the senses, the Wormfood records favourites are guaranteed to get your blood pumping as they whisk you away to their own sonic universe. Check out 'Figure Numatic' above.
Also announced is Eliza Shaddad, CuT, Paddy Steer, D R O H N E, Super Fast Girlie Show, Fidel Afro and The Dave O'Grady Band. Head here for the full Threshold line up. Bag your Threshold tickets here.
