Uber has enjoyed a serious run of form of late with the likes of Sasha, Joris Voorn, and DJ Sneak gracing its presence in the past few months. Saturday the 30th November marks Uber’s seventh birthday, and with that announces the arrival of the all conquering Groove Armada to Carlisle’s The Venue.
Londoners Andy Cato and Tom Findlay have been the darlings of electronic music in this country since they released their critically lauded Vertigo album way back in 1999. Skillfully blending influences as far ranging as jazz, house, big beat, Balearic disco and funk, Groove Armada have forged for themselves a sound uniquely their own, becoming one of the most iconic duos within the dance realm.

Their DJ sets are a typically electrifying affair, putting to one side their downtempo leanings and tearing into the dance floor with more skill than most (check out their above appearance in Ibiza last year). Maintaining their love of music from all walks of life, expect an eclectic dance floor fuelled masterclass for Uber’s birthday shenanigans.
They will be joined on the bill by house music veteran Ki Creighton (check his mix for us below). Having learnt his craft in the nineties at a huge number of warehouse and illegal raves, attending legendary nights at everywhere from Hacienda to Wigan Pier, Ki Creighton holds a knowledge of house music that borders on the encyclopedic.

He will be heading up a UNI records showcase with his own brand of house, tech house and techno, rooted in the future as well as representing the finest examples of dance music's glorious past. Having played everywhere from Circus in Liverpool to Back To Basics in Leeds, Ki Creighton is undoubtedly a DJ that has been there, seen it, and done it. His twenty plus years of experience show in his meticulously crafted sets that are sure to delight the Uber crowd.
Other highlights include David Glass, Kydus, Itchy Newman and Jamie Roy amongst many others. As one of the north’s most loved and well established night’s, expect big things for its seventh birthday party on November 30th.
