DJ Schak has announced he'll make a special stop at Newcastle club The Lofts on Friday 17th February, when he embarks on his first-ever headline tour this year.
For those who've been living under a rock for the past year, let us introduce you to the brazen rogue who's been popping up and performing in the most bizarre of places over the past few months.
Real-name Shakeil Luciano, the 30-year-old North Shields-hailing producer became a viral sensation in 2022, posting videos to social media of his guerilla gigs in various public spaces - from the kitchen counters in his local B&Q hardware store to the top of a double-decker bus amidst commuters on their way home from work.
Each video features a flash mob of Schak supporters 'jumping and moving all around' to the now fast-rising talent's most recognisable hit, 'Moving All Around (Jumpin'). The record, which has knocked up millions of streams since its release in October last year, was eventually picked up by the Geordie poster boy of house and techno, Patrick Topping, and subsequently released on his lauded record label, Trick.
Back to the present day and Schak is making BIG moves. On top of launching his own social media challenge and accompanying hashtag (#MovingAllAroundChallenge), encouraging others to create their own flash mobs out in the public domain, he's also recently unveiled an official music video for his debut single (seen above) and confirmed a headline tour in 2023.
More details regarding the tour have yet to be revealed. Watch this space.
