The Award-Winning Get Loaded in the Park is shaping up to be the highlight of the summer music festival calendar. After the phenomenal sell-out success of last year’s event, tickets for this much-loved outdoor party look set to sell out for the second consecutive year.

Some tickets are still available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk or call the 24hr hotline on 08700 601801. They are priced £25 in advance, some may be available on the gate but it's looking unlikely!

MAIN STAGE

The Happy Mondays have confirmed that they will be performing two brand new tracks LIVE for the first time in over a decade at Get Loaded in the Park. Monday’s front-man Shaun Ryder has written two new Happy Mondays tracks especially for GLITP and the legendary Mad-chester band will be bringing the festival to a dramatic close with the day’s final live performance. Plus look out for a special appearance from Bez’s ‘Pimped Up’ black cab at some stage - as seen on MTV’s Pimp My Ride!! The Cuban Brothers will be your hosts for the day. They’ve planned a number of special sketches/breakdance manoeuvres to welcome on stage Rap/dance/funk/indie outfit Stereo MCs, Liverpool’s The Farm and Londoners Flowered Up – who are back in business after 13 years and a series of sell-out warm up gigs. On a DJ tip, King of the Common Paul Oakenfold will play a one-off Get Loaded-inspired set. The superstar DJ, record label boss, film-scorer and former Happy Mondays producer will take the decks straight after two of the UK’s favourite bands – Snow Patrol and Elbow, have had their own DJ workout. Who said DJs aren’t Rockstars? Get Loaded regulars and fellow rockers Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets) and Mani (Primal Scream) will also be getting their hands dirty behind the decks, while Sean Rowley plays out his hilarious Guilty Pleasures - songs you shouldn’t really like, but secretly love! The wonderful Junior Boys Own Soundsystem meanwhile dig deep through their record boxes as house music legends Rocky & Diesel and Farley & Heller take a trip back to the age of acid house.

SOUTHERN FRIED RECORDS ARENA

The original Funk Soul Brother, Fatboy Slim will be hosting his very own ‘Big Top’ tent with an exclusive headline set and a showcase of live acts & DJs from his Southern Fried Records label. Fatboy’s old sparring partner – NYC’s Armand Van Helden plays his only UK festival gig of 2005, the hotly-tipped Cagedbaby and Grandad Bob play live and Annie Mac (Radio 1), Touche and DJ Deekline & Wizard provide further musical mayhem on the 1210’s!

GET LOADED ARENA

With a heavy emphasis on new and unsigned talent, the Get Loaded Arena promises more bands of the future as we welcome our tips for 2005: New Rhodes, Oceansize, The Infadels, Amusement Parks On Fire, Apartment, Mohair and Ambershades. Last year’s stand-out bands - The Others, Art Brut, Little Barrie and The Cribs have all since gone onto bigger and better things, so we have high hopes for this year’s chosen acts. Unsigned bands Intervurt and Whitestar open the Arena, having won their place via a huge UK search with Virtualfestivals.com. In between acts, you’ll almost kill yourself with laughter as the world famous Comedy Store pull across the red curtain to showcase five of the countries hottest new comedians - John Fothergill, Roger Monkhouse, Mike Gunn, Junior Simpson & Gordon Southern. There’s also a very special Audience with Howard Marks, who for the first time ever will be reading exclusive extracts from his forthcoming new book - the follow up to Mr Nice. The action is completed by The Libertines’ Carl Barat who steps out under his Dirty Pretty Things DJ guise, X-FM’s John Kennedy, Jeff Automatic and indie minxes Goldierocks.
