We've now got tickets on sale for Ry X's London date on Monday 17th February at Union Chapel in Islington, the Australian singer-songwriter behind the hauntingly beautiful 'Berlin', which has been featured prominently on a Sony advert (listen to the Berlin EP on Spotify).
The song has drawn comparisons with Gotye's 2011 smash 'Somebody that I used to know' on account of both singer's nationality, the likeness of videos (both feature the respective singers with a female muse, watch watch the video to 'Berlin' above), and also their background in electronic music.
Ry X last year collaborated with Frank Weidemann, one half of German duo Ame, on the similarly eerie 'Howling' (watch below), which when remixed by Ame became one of the biggest club smashes of the year across the globe. It announced Ry X as a formidably talented voice, capable of creating the kind of haunting electronic and folk textures associated with the likes of Junior Boys, Jose Gonzalez and Ane Brun.
