ICroatian music imprint Burek makes its debut in London at Dalston’s Dance Tunnel on Friday 27th September, focusing on bringing an Adriatic themed slab of lavish disco, acid house and wonky italo to the capital. The first event sees a headline turn from Clone Records’ own Serge, the man behind the hugely influential Dutch label, and who you can watch delivering a jaw-dropping set at the Boiler Room below.
He’ll be joined by Scottish edit master Fudge Fingas and Toby Tobias, with the event also serving to highlight the record label with which it shares a name. Mario Kolonić otherwise known as Pytzek launched the imprint in 2011, before Mislav joined him in the running of it shortly after and Joe Bonez lent his London centric ear.
Since then the label has become synonymous with quality sounds in the more polished end of the disco spectrum, as evidenced on the mix Pystek delivered for Fritz radio which you can stream below. Their releases have seen support from a wide range of the dance music community, including the likes of Ben Watt, Azari & III, MCDE, Michael Mayer, Soul Clap, Justin Marin, Erol Alkan, Todd Terje, Brodinski, Jimpster, Fred P and Midland among them.
They’ve also showcased their sound at many of this year’s festivals including Garden, Hideout, FOR, Unknown and Dimensions, developing a reputation for killer grooves in the process. The Burek triumvirate of Pytzek, Mislav and JoeBonez will also all be playing at the event.
