With such luminaries as Darius Syrossian heading up Covert’s assault on the clubbing scene, the much loved Manchester brand have made a real name for themselves as Manchester’s most renowned exponents of true house music.
DJ Sneak Essential Mix
And what better way to follow up from last time out's overwhelming success than with a true house music legend - DJ Sneak.
Since his move from Puerto Rico to Chicago in the early eighties, Sneak was introduced to the world of underground house music. Benefitting from the first wave of the house house explosion, his exposure to the work of the early pioneers such as Farley Jackmaster Funk, Steve hurley and Ralphi Rosario led to an obsession with the genre. He moved into DJing, working initially in local nightclubs, until a fateful meeting with Cajmere (or Green Velvet as he’s also known) at his place of work, Gramophone Records, led to a championing of his productions and a now legendary record deal, resulting in worldwide acclaim.
DJ Sneak in the Boiler Room
His trademark sound comprised of filtered Disco samples, jacking house beats and infectious grooves has continued to make him a firm favourite with many, and an essential part of house music’s rich history. Credited with being a part of the second wave of house music, one of the innovators to have molded the face of house as we experience it today, Sneak is one of the true greats. His sets are a powerhouse of driving house music, full of groove and soul - just check out his appearance at Boiler Room(above) to get a feel for how this master operates.
He will be joined by Covert residents Just Jorge, DJ Murr and Jaxx for a raucous night of four to the floor jackin’ house vibes, in true Covert style.
