Having not long looked through The Deaf Institute's Xmas and NYE line ups with a sense of admiration, the restaurant, bar and club space springs another surprise on us by teaming up with Now Wave to showcase a live set from one of Scotland's most celebrated beatsmiths - Rustie on March 16th.
The Glaswegian master of wonky hip hop, mangled dubstep and futuristic funk has become an international icon for his mixture of slowed down, low slung beats, with splashes of experimentation and brash, engaging melodies that understandably caught the attention of the formidable Warp Records empire, which has been his home since 2010.
His debut LP Glass Swords popped up on a myriad of end of year lists, topped by winning The Guardian's 'First Album Award' as his fresh take on electronic music swept the nation.
His sophomore album Green Language saw yet more accolades come his way, with Pitchfork lavishing best new track awards on both 'Raptor' and the brilliant 'Attak', which has been a regular feature on Skiddle's office airwaves ever since it was released - hear why above. Tickets are now on sale, you know what to do.
