Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess will join The Love of Life Orchestra's Peter Gordon for a UK tour that will see the collaborators promote their forthcoming album Same Language Different Worlds which is due for release on 2nd September.
Having met in 2012 the pair set about recording an album in New York with production duties overseen by Gordon. It features the likes of The Modern Lovers' Ernie Brooks who has previously worked with the 64 year old as well as trombone player Peter Zummo, conga player Mustafa Ahmed and Nik Void from Factory Floor.
The first track to be released off the album is titled 'Unguarded' and you can listen via Soundcloud above. The eight minute opus is decidedly experimental with subtle tribal drums, squelching basslines and echoing phrases.
The sentiments of Burgess' Madchester past undeniably shine through and as a live experience the album will surely be a trippy affair.
The duo will play the Hare and Hounds in Birmingham on 1st September before playing Gorilla in Manchester on the 2nd September.
