Tinie Tempah leads the MOBO Awards with four nominations, it was announced last night (08.09.10).

The 'Pass Out' rapper - who only released his debut single in February this year - is nominated for Best Newcomer, Best UK Act, Best Song and Best Video at the awards, which will be held in Liverpool, Northern England, on October 20.

When congratulated on his nominations, Tinie told BANG Showbiz: "Thank you, thank you very much. It's going to be hot."

N-Dubz, Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green and Plan B also scooped three nominations each for the ceremony - which awards musicians of any background who perform Music Of Black Origin and is celebrating its 15th year in 2010.

Speaking at the event, N-Dubz singer Tulisa - who previously scooped the prize with the group for Best Newcomer in 2007 - said: "I remember when we first started, looking at the MOBO Awards on the TV and thinking 'oh my god, how would it feel to win one of those?'

"When we finally did it was one of the most amazing feelings."

Her bandmate, rapper Fazer, added the award helped them get through a difficult period, as it shortly after the loss of their mentor Byron Contostavlos, who passed away just months before.

Other artists to receive nominations last night include Alexandra Burke, M.I.A and Leona Lewis who all in the Best UK act category, while Black Eyed Peas, Jason Derulo, Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z were all nominated in the Best International Act section.
