'Harry Potter' star Tom Felton has landed a record deal.

The 22-year-old actor - who played Draco Malfoy in the wizard film franchise - has signed to indie label Six Strings Productions to produce an album, which he will write, play and sing himself.

The label's twitter page confirmed: "Tom Felton has signed and the album is very much on its way."

Tom - who won an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain for his portrayal of evil Malfoy in 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' - revealed he began making music with friends as a hobby, before realising the tracks they were laying down were "quite credible".

He said: "I'm a keen musician. Me and my mates have a great times jamming and recording stuff. We have a great band behind us and have turned my nursery-rhyme songs into quite credible pieces of music.

"But you definitely won't see me on the broomstick with a guitar."

Tom isn't the only musical member of the 'Harry Potter' cast.

Robert Pattinson - who played Cedric Diggory in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' - recorded tracks for the 'Twilight Saga' soundtrack, while Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the titular boy wizard recently confessed to a love of karaoke.

He said: "I love karaoke. I am one of those people who says, 'No, no, I can't, I couldn't possibly, no I won't... all right, give me the mic!' And then I'm elbowing other people out of the way to get to the stage."

Speaking about a recent karaoke night, he added: "I sang Elvis Presley's Hound Dog. That, and then I did 'Feeling Good' by Muse. That was my proudest moment, because I actually did that rather well. I was really pleased, because I can sing.

"I've been having singing lessons for two and a half years. I'm not amazing, obviously, but I'm all right."
