Tube & Berger's Kittball Records imprint has been a hot bed for quality house music release since it's inception. The label also released the duo's debut studio album titled Introlution back in 2012, a triumph which included a track with Chicago House legend Robert Owens and an abundance of jacking house offerings.
Having just released their new album We Are All Stars and with a headline show at Egg in London on the horizon, we asked Tube & Berger to tell us their favourite releases from the label.
Together with Milan Euringer we produced Lovebreak as part of our Kittball Konspiracy compilation. Featuring a rare live Curtis Mayfield sample, the lyrics "all I wanna do is love you" became the philosophy of millions of clubbers in 2013 and the song achieved huge success. One of the key records that defined the deep house genre in that whole period.
We played a gig in Brazil where we met two guys called Chemical Surf. We were instantly struck by their set and style. We connected them with our friend and label-partner Paco and this song was the result of their first cooperation.
We signed the track for Kittball and also did a Tube & Berger remix of it, which we still constantly play in our sets now. We also became good friends with them and they told us that after we signed them on Kittball, other international labels were also interested in them, and within one year they had become one of the hottest acts in Brazil.
Kittball’s raw diamond, Paji, delivered this top notch tune which blew us away from the first listen. Nowadays it's still a hot tune and the girls love it.
We had great fun making this record with our good friend Richard Judge (who sings on the track). We liked it so much, we wanted it to be released as the first single taken from our forthcoming sophomore album, 'We Are All Stars'. The track received some great support, which we're truly thankful for, and held the #1 spot on Beatport's Deep House chart for 8 weeks.
Top quality disco tune, so old school, but also so fresh. You can’t get it out of your head after the first listen, such an earworm and still hot, because it is so timeless.
