UK’s first post-lockdown trance festival gets the go ahead
Anomaly’s ‘Summer of Love’ hits Bromsgrove on Saturday 22nd August
Date published: 17th Aug 2020
The UK’s first post-lockdown trance festival is due to go ahead in Bromsgrove this month.
Anomaly’s eleven-hour ‘Summer of Love’ event will be capped at 300 and takes place in ‘a secluded countryside location just 10 miles outside of Birmingham’ on Saturday 22nd August (midday to 11pm).
Influential DJ and VII label head John Askew will headline the event, joined by The Thrillseekers, Ciaran McAuley, Billy Gillies, Will Rees, Dave Asprey, GXD, Danny Eaton and more across two stages.
Organiser Rich Miller says “After six months of our events getting postponed, we are happy we have the green light to finally put on a show.
“There is a lot of effort and cost involved to set-up a social distance event like this, but we wanted to give our fellow rave community something to look forward to, to support local UK artists, the stage production crew, lighting guys, catering suppliers, freelance technicians and the local community.
“The event is an open field that can host 20,000+ people, so with some well thought rules and regulations that we can easily enforce on-site and some mutual respect between our customers, we can rave safe at a distance.”
Anomaly confirm that they "have received the go-ahead from authorities" and that social distancing measures, site guidelines and track and trace will be in place - find out more info here.
Well, at least that's one festival going ahead this year…
